Making sense of sensors
Imagine your city as a living organism. Sensors act as the human senses: eyes, ears, smell, touch… Gathering information from their environment.
They collect all kinds of data and work almost anywhere, even in hard-to-reach spots. Plus, they’re super low-power, with batteries lasting up to 10 years. Non-invasive and non-intrusive, they’re easy to set up - just power them up and go.
Once set up, sensors collect data immediately and send it securely and regularly to their nearest network gateway. With a long transmission range, the nearest gateway can be up to 10km away. This means you need fewer gateways, keeping the infrastructure simple and cost-effective.
The network gateway sends the secure data to the network cloud server, where it’s processed and formatted correctly. From there, it’s sent to your platform, ready for you to store, analyse, and turn into insights.

We are experts in designing sensor networks and building Low-Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN) covering towns & cities in the UK. The benefit of this is that it's truly scalable with the ability to connect millions of devices.
Once it's set up, you can keep adding sensors to collect even more data, giving you a clearer picture of what's happening in your environment in real time.
With enough sensors, you create a digital model of your environment called a digital twin. Since it’s always connected to the real world, you can monitor, visualise, and analyse everything remotely.
Over time, as more data comes in, your digital twin can even predict how your environment will react to decisions you make.
This combination of sensors, network, and data & insights is what makes a city truly smart.
